About Sangin' Sara

These words sum up the artist that is Sangin Sara.    


Born the daughter of the late Pastor Samuel Williams Sr, Sara has been singing since the age of 2.  At the age of 11, she became a member of NANM Inc., and began to study classical music.   In high school and college, Sara discovered a love of jazz music, and began to study such notables as Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday.  She has performed for several events, including a celebration for San Francisco’s Japanese Consul General, the SF Public Defender Swearing in Ceremony, and the SF Juneteenth Festival as well as at many local venues including Level 13 Lounge, Q’s Lounge, and Yoshi’s. She is currently a touring background singer for nine time grammy nominated artist, Ledisi, and can be heard on her recent “The Intimate Truth” EP. Sara has performed on The Late Show w/David Letterman, The Queen Latifah Show, The Tonight Show, and various shows on Vh1 and Mtv. She also lends her talent in the studio, with such esteemed producers as Carl Wheeler and Chief Xcel of Blackalicious. 


Also a writer, you can find the recent stylings of Sangin Sara on her single, "Count on My Love", and on the track "Long Way from Here" from Mike Blankenship's cd "Living for the Future".   Sara has been fortunate enough to grace the stage with artists such as D’Wayne Wiggins, Eric Roberson, Dave Hollister, Rahsaan Patterson, Syleena Johnson, Jennifer Holiday, and Ms. Anita Wilson. 


Sara is also a vocal coach and choir director. She believes in empowering her students, helping them find their voice, and appreciate its' unique beauty. 


Sara was fortunate to be a featured vocalist at the 2018 NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards. She is an endorser of Clear Tune Monitors and Electro-Voice.


Sara is currently working on her 1st, official single, to be released Spring 2018!
